For the past several weeks, I've been posting about The City of Roses using photos of roses from my backyard. Pretty soon, the Fall will turn into Winter, and in preparation I'll be pruning the Rose bushes back. The City of Roses and the Speechless Sundays and Wordless Wednesdays of the backyard blooms will be put on hold.
I like The City of Roses. I particularly like this rose, with its circular inner motions, and the color is stunning. I even like the few petals that are not pristine, the few that are turning -- past their prime. It just goes to show you that there's still a lot of beauty to behold -- even when aging!

You're a lucky gal to have a back yard full of those beautiful roses. It's a lovely photo. Thanks for sharing them with us.
What a beauty. Roses are nature's royalty. That you have them this late is cool, but surely temporary, I'm afraid.
Carla. .you just lowered my blood pressure by 10 points. . what a refreshing post! Love the new look of your blog!
Thanks for sharing that beautiful rose with us, Carla. Most of our summer flowers are now gone, here in Lafayette, Indiana. MUMS are the word now, for fall color.
Very cool Carla - not many more weeks for you guys up in cold country. I guess that means I'd better start taking pics for all of you - all winter long. I can't wait to have flowers again!
Carla,
Beautiful. Enjoy them while you can; I feel winter in the air.
Lee & Carol -- Thanks again for your comments. You are the best "patrons" of my Rose Blog Gallery :-)
Hi Jim . . . yes, they are nature's royalty!
Hey Fernando -- now if the Internet could only have the smell 'o rama app -- you'd be stablized! HA HA HA Thanks for the comment!!
Hi Sharon -- Mums the word. Funny! LOL
Hey Anna B. -- yup, we're almost into Fall for good. A few nice days left though. Do post your HA HA HA pics!
Yup Terry . . . the cold is creeping in. I think last night we were down in the 40's.
I have more than a few petals past their prime :( Great photo, Carla.
Wonderful photo of one of my favorite flowers. Kinda like "Pavlov's dog", I sighed and could almost smell the rose the second I saw it.
Hey Dan . . . thanks for commenting, appreciating beauty and thanks for reminding me too! I look out in my yard, and it's not there anymore. But will return in spring!
Gorgeous Rose..hard to take a bad picture of something so beautiful
Thanks very much Konnie! Can't hide a pretty face ;-)
Hi Carla. May your Winter be short and mild. Aloha & best wishes.
Hey Jane -- how'd you sneak in?
Hi Richard . . . thanks. I like it when it snows, so we can have a few flurries and I'll be happy.
